Chelsea star, Cesc Fabregas had had a running in with the authorities. He has bagged a six months driving ban after he exceeded the speed limit. The 28 year old midfielder admitted guilt for breaking the speed limit of 50 mph by getting to a speed of about 110mph, over twice the speed limit.

He broke the speed limit while driving his Aston Martin Vantage and was caught on camera by a police officer. He was charged a fine of £2500. This fine is made up of a  £1000 fine, £625 for court costs, £840 for the expert fee and a £100 victim surcharge.

On the fine, the judge said “With regards to the fine, as a footballer I’m sure he is earning a large sum of money. Under these circumstances, I cannot see any reason why a fine of £1,000 would not be appropriate.”

The star was also handed 6 points on his license. This makes it a total of 12 points. The initial 6 points was gotten when he failed to identify an unknown driver of his Aston Martin last year October.

His lawyer in expressing Fabregas’ remorse said “This is not somebody who is repeatedly before the court for troubling speed cameras, running red lights, driving without insurance and driving without a licence. That doesn’t arise in this case. What I can tell you is that this is somebody who will not be doing it again.”

In all, it is hoped that true to his lawyer’s words, Fabregas won’t be having more trouble with the authorities.

Chelsea FC has had a very difficult start to the season. This can be said to be because of a lacklustre performance by the team. One of the important players who has not been performing as well is Belgian star, Eden Hazard. Eden Hazard has been unable to score in his first 10 games of the season for Chelsea.

He has come out to admit that he is in a difficult phase of his career. He said: “This is perhaps the most difficult period of my career. There are always ups and downs. I’m not certain what the problem is. But we have to keep working hard to improve. It’s always good to spend time with the national team, and even more so when things aren’t going well for your club. I know I can do better. I have to be able to help the team win.”

Hazard is currently absent on duty with he national team. He was able to net a goal in Belgium’s 4-1 win over Andorra. This was through a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. He seeks to help the team qualify for the Euro competition and to also top their table above Wales that are currently topping the table.

Chelsea has had a poor performance this season. Of their first 8 games this season, they lost four. This leaves them occupying the shocking position of 16th on the table. This has been very tragic considering the fact that they occupied the top position last season. In addition to that, they also won the league cup.

Chelsea FC need to get their act together and Eden Hazard is very influential towards achieving this. Thus, he has to pick up his form of last season.

Klopp during his time at Dortmund After sacking Brendan Rogers this weekend, Liverpool has set their sights on hiring German personality Jurgen Klopp as a possible replacement. Klopp has been on a self imposed sabbatical leave since leaving Borrusia Dortmund at the end of last season. Jurgen Klopp spent 7 years in all at Dortmund which saw him win plenty silverwares and even carried the team to the Champions league finals. He achieved a lot at Dortmund and was loved by his players and the fans at large.

Liverpool on the other hand parted ways with Brendan Rogers after their 1-1 draw with Everton. It’s been a long time coming for Rodgers as he had been hanging on the ropes since the beginning of the season. After spending so much to bring in players during the last transfer market, there seemed to be no progress with the team. During his three years spell at Liverpool, Rodgers brought in a total of 31 Players and all he has to show for it is one silver ware, not a major one at that.

Jurgen Klopp has been rumored as the possible replacement for Pep Guardiola after his contract with Bayern Munich runs this January but the possibilities of a U-turn by the Spaniard has made Kloop consider the offer from Liverpool. Liverpool also has former AC Milan and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelloti as an option but Kloop remains their first choice. They would want to seal the deal for Klopp on time as Chelsea’s coach Jose Mourinho seems to be running out of time to get the club back to winning ways. And if so happens that Mourinho is sacked, Chelsea would turn their sights to Klopp or Ancelloti which would make the whole process more difficult for them.

Jose mourinho’s Chelsea continued their run of poor performance as they drew 2-2 with Newcastle yesterday. The blues were two goals down by the hour mark at St James Park were they had to scramble two late goals to secure one point from the game. Ayoze perez opening the scoring for the magpies just before the half time whistle and then Georginio Wijnaldum doubled their lead, heading home the ball following a corner kick. But with twelve minutes remaining on the clock, Mourinho had to introduce substitutes Ramires and Willian who came on to change the game. Ramires started the comeback scoring a shot from 20 yards in the 79th minute before Willian drew level for the team from a dead ball.

Newcastle might be disappointed with the result given that they just needed to hold on for twelve more minutes to secure all three points. Mourinho has gone on to criticize the mentality of his opponents stating that this maybe the reason why the team never wins anything. According to him the Newcastle team brings out their all whenever they are playing against Chelsea and just play normally in other matches. It is worthy to note that Jose Mourinho has never won a league match at St James Park. Mourinho has blamed his team loss on bad individual performances stating that if he had his way, he would have changed at least six players after the first half. This result leaves Chelsea seven points behind new premier league leaders Manchester United but the league is still very much open considering that only seven games have been played so far.

On the last day of the transfer market, we saw Manchester United roll out a massive 36 million pounds to sign a certain young Monaco striker who has been dubbed to be the next Thierry Henry. A lot was said about why United was willing to shell out such an amount for potential and not experience but I guess we have all seen why on the pitch. Anthony Martial just arrived United and already has four goals to his name. His composure in front of goal just shows how good a marksman he is.

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger has now claimed that he has known and followed Martial since he was a child but decided not to sign him because he thought he was a winger. Questions about his preferred role are behind everyone as Old Trafford has already recognized him as one of their goal heroes. The 19 years old agent, Philippe Lamboley has said that he doesn’t think Wenger comments is justifiable for a coach who has watched the player closely, adding that in football, there are people who just follow players and people who sign them.

This is not the first time Wenger is missing out on a Manchester United player, he also missed out on the opportunity to sign Angel Di Maria for free when the Argentine was just 17 years old. He also missed on great players such as Xabi Alonso, Zlatan Ibrahimovich, Lionel Messi and even former United player, Cristiano Ronaldo. Whether Anthony Martial would become one of the great players Wenger nearly signed is still unknown but I guess we would have an answer to that statement at the end of the season.

Senior club doctor Eva Carneiro has parted ways with the club following her controversy with the club’s coach Jose Mourinho on the opening day of the Premier League. Carneiro rushed on the pitch to attend to Chelsea forward Eden Hazard who had been knocked down, but her actions didn’t go down well with the coach who referred to it as being naïve and impulsive. According to him, she slowed the momentum of the game and allowed the hosts recover from the pressure being piled on them by Chelsea. The blues went on to draw the match 2-2 as they were temporarily reduced to ten men while Carneiro attended to Eden Hazard by the sidelines.

Although the former blues doctor is set to take her case with the club to court after departing the club, she even shared a picture she tagged as her new dawn on her facebook page while thanking the fans for their support all through the incidence. Since the incidence, Carneiro has been suspended from performing her match day duties and reduced to working with players at the training pitch. Board member of the English FA, Heathers Rabbats has stated that she hopes to see Carneiro back in the football world as soon as possible. She also went ahead to state that Carneiro was just a doctor performing her duties and that the way she was being treated by the club send out the wrong message about the safety of players when their medical support is compromised.

Laughs a lot who laughs last, perhaps, this sentence is going to be the slogan of Arsenal fans for the Chelsea football player , the Spanish international striker Diego Costa.

This expression comes from the Gunners’ audience after the decision of English Football Association to stop Diego Costa from playing for the next three games.

FA’s decision to stop Costa came after the events in the game of his team against Arsenal in the last round of the English Premier League.

And Costa, in the last game against Arsenal, was interfering Arsenal Defender Laurent Koscielny where Diego beated him without seeing this by referee Mark Dean, therefore D.Costa didn’t get an immediate punishment in the game.

Although Costa was the man who laughed in that game for escaping from the punishment after his fault against Koscielny and causing a strange decision from the referee of excluding Gabriel Paulista, but eventually, the end was not in his favor.

And the dissemination of the FA’s statement about Costa said: “After the disciplinary board of the football meeting in England and watching the video of interference by Diego Costa in front of Koscielny,  Arsenal defender. After missing the attention of the referee, we found that Costa deserves to be punished and he will be banned for three games.”

And by this Diego Costa will miss the next three local games in front of Walsall in the English League Cup and Newcastle and Southampton in the English Premier League to be back with his team on October 17 in front of Aston Villa.

Chelsea striker, Diego Costa and Arsenal defender, Gabriel Paulista have been charged by the English FA for their violent conduct during the match between the two teams on Saturday.  The Chelsea striker was involved in an incident earlier in the game with Laurent Koscielny in the first half of the game. While Diego Costa is charged with violent conduct, Gabriel is charged with improper conduct. Video footage shows that the Chelsea man had earlier showed his hands in the arsenal defenders face before flailing his left arm which also made contact with the defender. The referee at the time did not see all this but saw when Gabriel Paulista tried to kick the Chelsea strike which made him award a second yellow card that resulted to his sending off. Given the circumstances surrounding the incident, it could be said that the referee viewed Gabriel’s kick as retaliation for an earlier confrontation between the two players.

The situation with Gabriel is a bit complicated as the club has already filed an appeal for wrongful dismissal and even if it is accepted, the player would still be guilty to improper conduct for refusing to leave the pitch after he was sent off. It took the intervention of some players and a security agent to finally get him off. His fellow Arsenal man, Santi Carzola who was sent off following his tackle on Cesc Fabregas got off with a warning from the FA.

Following the charges, Diego Costa could face a three match ban for his actions while Gabriel could see his initial ban for his red card extended from three games to a higher number. A panel of judges would refer to the video footage of the match to determine the punishment that both players deserve for their actions and the decision of the panel must be congruent. The two clubs have also been charged by the FA for failing to conduct their players during the match which would go down to be one of the most heated encounters between the teams and they both have until Thursday to respond to the charges.

Chelsea got their second win of the season in a fierce two goals victory over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. Goals from Zouma in the 53rd minute and playmaker Eden Hazard secured all three points for the blues. But it took the sending off of two arsenal players for the blues to break down the Wenger’s men as Gabriel Paulista became the latest player to fall for Diego Costa’s dirty tactics. The arsenal man had received an initial booking earlier in the game before being sent off after his role with Spain international Diego Costa just before half-time. It took Chelsea just eight minutes to capitalize on this advantage as Kurt Zouma rose high to nod home a Cesc Fabregas free kick past new arsenal recruit Petr Cech on his return to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea got in the driving seat after the opener and didn’t look like they were ready to give up their lead with Santi Cazorla’s second yellow card following his challenge on fellow country man Cesc Fabregas ending the hopes of any Arsenal revival. Eden Hazard then found the back of the net in the closing stages of the game to twist the knife in Arsenal’s loss.

Captain John Terry was left on the bench for this one, while Branislav Ivanovic was being constantly tested by Alex Sanchez down the left flank. Cesc Fabregas came close to opening the lead for Chelsea as they dominated the opening 15 minutes of the game. Costa and summer signing Pedro also had their chances which they couldn’t convert in the first half. The game changer for Mourinho’s men was the dismissal of Gabriel Paulista. Although Arsene Wenger did try to shore up the defense by introducing Calum Chambers but the match was already Chelsea’s game as they made sure their one man advantage counted. Zouma nodded in the opener to open his premier league account and then Hazard’s goal sealed all three points for the blues.

Chelsea’s coach, José mourinho has lashed out in response to questions as to why his third seasons were always bad for him as a manager. The question was asked during a pre-match conference for the champions league game between the Blues and Maccabi Tel-Aviv. The question was asked out of concern that Mourinho couldn’t always maintain his momentum into the third season.

Mourinho’s response was: “My third season in Porto, I didn’t have a third season, in Inter, I didn’t have a third season. My third season at Chelsea, the first time, I won the FA Cup and the League Cup, and I played the Champions League semifinals. The third season in Real Madrid, I won the Spanish Super Cup, lost the Copa del Rey final, and I went to the Champions League semifinals. These are my third seasons. So click on ‘Google’ instead of asking stupid questions. You spoke about the third season, and I’m telling you the question is stupid. I know the point — it is that the question is stupid.”

Mourinho also confirmed that there would be changes in his squad and it wasn’t because he was having problems with the players. Mounrinho said: “I can make changes. But I know the consequences of that because if I make a couple of changes in my team, instead of you saying, ‘He has a squad, he has more options, he is looking for a new dynamic, he wants to give a couple of chances to people who have been working hard,’ I know what you will say. If I leave out [Cesar] Azpilicueta, it’s because I have a problem with him. Same with [John] Terry, same with [Cesc] Fabregas. I know the consequences. But I cannot be worried about what you say or write. I have to be just worried about my team and players.

When mourinho was also asked about the possible reasons for the club’s recent poor outings, he defended Chelsea and maintained that although Chelsea is having a bad time, they are still the champions of England and nobody can take that away from them.

In conclusion, Chelsea’s game on Wednesday is a very important one and it would be used to gauge whether or not Chelsea has regained form. Thus, Wednesday’s game is a must win for Chelsea one way or the other.
