Ravel Morrison at the United standsRavel Morrison admits he wasted his opportunity to become an Old Trafford great. Morrison rose through the youth team at united and was tipped as being the next big thing at Old Trafford but he couldn’t keep his cool and eventually left the club in 2013 to join fellow Premier League club West Ham. He left West Ham United at the end of last season on a free transfer to join Italian club Lazio where he impressed during the preseason. It is likely that he would be given the opportunity to prove himself at Lazio this season and that what the 22 years old is looking forward to as he looks to rebuild his career again.

Morrison admitted that while he was at United, United head coach, Sir Alex Ferguson advised him to take his career very serious. Even fellow England international Rio Ferdinand had a discussion with him where he advised Morrison to put in more efforts in training rather than hanging out with friends and chilling but he didn’t heed to that advice and now he is left to pick up from where he left off. Sir Alex Ferguson in his recently released book titled “leading” described Morrison as the best prospects United ever had, stating that he was as good as any player Manchester United ever signed.

Morrison in a recent interview admitted that he had off the pitch problems which seemed to have his attention and that affected his time on the pitch and in training. Well he is still young and he is willing to learn so maybe Lazio is the beginning of something great in his life.
