It was a match poised to be Bayern Munich toughest league match this season as they have already won seven league matches consecutively even in the absence some of their most lethal players. But they got off easily while replicating their score line of 5-1 against Wolfsburg two weeks back. German striker Thomas Muller opened the scoring for the Bundesliga champions when he received a long pass from team mate Jerome Boateng which he controlled well to beat on rushing Burki before lashing a left footed shot into the open net. Muller doubled his tally from the penalty spot just nine minutes later as Thiago Alcantara went down in the box after being tackled by Henrikh Mkhitaryan. With ten minutes before the end of the first half Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tapped in from close range to give Dortmund a glimmer of hope but that was to be their only goal in the contest.

All hopes of a comeback for Dortmund was killed off just twenty three seconds into the second half as Roberto Lewandowski got his name on the score sheet with a shot from close range with a pass from Jerome Boateng, that was to be the strikers first for the night and the defenders second assist of the game. Lewandowski again, met a low cross for Mario Gotze on the right which he converted to make it 4-1. The game was far from over as there was one more goal to come from Mario Gotze and this time it was assisted by Thiago Alcantara. The win means that Bayern get to maintain their 100% league start and extend their lead to seven points at the top of the table.

Thomas Muller continued his scoring streak for Bayern Munich in their Wednesday night Champions League match against Olympiacos. Thomas Muller gave Bayern the lead in the 52nd minute with a long range effort just outside the box. His shot did look like it was a cross until it ended in the net. Substitute Mario Gotze then doubled the lead for Bayern in the later stages of the game after running past two Olympiacos defenders before slotting home from a tight angle. But Muller was to have the final say as he doubled his tally for the night from the penalty spot after his team mate, Coman was fouled in the eighteen yards box by Olympiacos defender Arthur Masuaku.

The night started quite smoothly for Bayern as expected by all but the hosts did have some decent chances of their own at different times in the game and failed to convert it. Their first chance came in the 20th minute when Nigerian striker Brown Ideye was got the ball in the Bayern box unmarked but his header wasn’t enough to worry Bayern’s goal keeper. Though Ideye, did save a goal for his team when he cleared Robert Lewandowski effort off the line. Bayern dominated all night but unable to break the deadlock until Muller scored a stunner. Olympiacos did try to get back into the as the clock wind down but could not find an equalizer and then Bayern struck again with two quick goals in the closing stages of the game. This took Muller’s tally for Bayern this season, to eight goals in all competitions.

Prior to this game Marco Silva’s team, Olympiacos were on an eleven game unbeaten run but it was Pep Guardiola’s men who maintained their perfect start this season with a sixth win on Wednesday night.
