Jose Mourinho made his first signing as Manchester United’s coach by bringing in Ivorian defender Eric Bailly from Spanish side Villareal. The central defender joined the Red Devils from the Spanish side on a four-years contract  which could be extended further for two more years.

Bailly who has appeared 15 times for his country Ivory Coast joined the Yellow Submarines just 18 months back. he has been pipped by the Portuguese coach as the next Sergio Ramos and that is probably why United went for him since they could not get the Real Madrid captain. Although Ramos is the more experienced one of the pair but what Bailly lacks in experience he makes up for in strength and toughness.

“Eric is a young central defender with great natural talent. He has progressed well to date and has the potential to become one of the best around,” former Chelsea manager who took over from Louis van Gaal in May, said.

The young Ivorian has played 47 times for Villareal since joining from Espanyol back in 2015. He was part of Villareal’s defence line that conceded only 35 goals in 38 La Liga matches last season. The signing of Eric Bailly is a good one for Manchester United as they look to build up a good team and challenge for the Premier League title next season. The player believes that working with the current United coach would help him develop in the right way, at the right club. He would most likely mount the central defence position along side Chris Smalling in the coming season.

Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho has started performing his duties at the English club as he looks to shore up his team for the coming season. He brought in Ricardo Formosinho, who is the new technical scout.

Although not a player as many are watching out for, Formosinho’s job in the backroom of the team is as critical as those of the players and the manager for a Manchester United that seeks glory in the new season after erstwhile manager of the club, Louis Van Gaal’s poor market choices in the previous one.

According to The Sun UK, 59-year-old Formosinho worked with the Special One at Porto in 2003-04, the season which ended in Mourinho’s first Champions League triumph. He was also with Mourinho at Real Madrid although his own managerial career has been less successful, lasting just three months at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia in 2014.

Formosinho, who will join Rui Faria and Silvinho Louro on Mourinho’s backroom team, will be in charge of tactical scouting as well as targeting future potential signings.

Meanwhile, on the players’ front, Mourinho is hoping to link up once more with Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the Swede looks to take his first crack at life in the Premier League. United also has its eye on Villarreal centre-back Eric Bailly as the Special One looks to sure up leaky defence.

Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of former player Paul Pogba, offering a British transfer record fee of £60m to Juventus. This is according to the Sun newspaper at least, with the tabloid claiming United’s new manager Jose Mourinho has sanctioned the bid in the hope fellow suitors Barcelona may be caught cold so early in the transfer window.

The Spanish champions are also known admirers of the French international midfielder who left Old Trafford under something of a cloud in 2012, having become frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities. It remains to be seen whether Italian champions Juventus hold out for a rival bid from Barcelona or another interested party, but should they accept United’s advances, then the Premier League club’s position will be in a position of real strength.

Having won four successive Serie A titles with 23-year-old Pogba in their ranks, the general consensus is that Juventus are reticent, yet realistic, about their man seeking a fresh challenge this summer.

Although he may have felt unloved under Sir Alex Ferguson in his brief stay at Old Trafford as a teenager, rumours suggest the midfield maestro is not hung up about past indiscretions, especially with a new era launching at Old Trafford under Mourinho.

Manchester United supporters will desperately be hoping bygones are just that, as the youngster who forced his way out of the club four years ago has gone on to become a midfield maestro.

Pogba is set for an instrumental role at his home Euros with France, where Les Bleus are contenders to lift the trophy.

Former Manchester United forward and Real Madrid star man Cristiano Ronaldo has once again ruled out a possible return to his former club. This is in the light of Manchester United’s possible appointment of his fellow Portuguese, Jose Mourinho. Ronaldo believes that his country man is the best person to bring United back to their glorious days. Mourinho is gradually closing in on a deal to become Manchester United’s next coach as the red devils relieved Louis van Gaal of his duty as coach. The deal is being worked on and Press Association Sports understands that image rights of the Portuguese is currently being worked on. The Red Devils won a record 12th FA Cup trophy under Louis van Gaal but that was not enough to convince the United board that he deserved to stay. Missing out on the Champions League for a second season now is not doing well to the club’s finances and reputation though their revenue statement shows they are still cashing in.

Cristiano Ronaldo said in an interview by a Spanish television “He’s already signed, hasn’t he? I think it’s good. If it’s something United wanted I think it’s good. I hope Manchester United get back to being what they were because it’s an impressive club but in the last years they lacked an identity a bit. And it hurts me seeing United like that because it’s a club that I carry in my heart. I wish Mourinho can carry them back to the top.” The Madrid star has told other clubs to forget about trying to lure him because he is happy to be at the best club in the world. He added: “Right now, yes I am happy and I want to stay at this club. I don’t see any other club that is better than Real Madrid. If you weigh things up there is no better club.

“So all other clubs can forget about me because Real Madrid is the best.”

imagesThe fact that his team is not performing well seems not to be the only problem Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho is facing. The Portuguese coach has been handed a one match stadium ban by the English FA for his misconduct during their 2-1 loss against West Ham 2 weeks back. Mourinho was provoked by the dismissal of his player, Nemanja Matic and his first team assistant coach Louro. During the half time break, the Portuguese approach the official in his changing room and refused to leave when asked to. He even made reference to the fact that Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger had referred to the  referee John Moss as being weak.

This would be the second ban that the Chelsea boss would be facing. The first which is also a stadium ban and a £50,000 fine is still being appealed and has not even been settled. This ban comes at a very wrong time for the Chelsea boss. Team doctor Eva Caneiro who was dismissed last two months after her rift with the coach, has taken the matter to court and the Chelsea boss is supposed to appear before an employment tribunal later this week. Chelsea currently seat at third position in their Champions League group and would host Dynamo in Wednesday. The match and Saturday’s match which Mourinho’s is supposed to miss following his ban are two important matches that could either buy him more time or lead to his sack.

This Premier League star match this weekend is non other than the match between struggling title holders Chelsea and Liverpool who are on their way to redeeming themselves under the guidance of new coach Jurgen Klopp. Chelsea coach, Jose Mourinho is confident that his team can overturn their recent bad form with a victory against Liverpool this weekend. The currently Premier League holders have had it very rough in their title defense this season securing just 11 out of a possible 30 points. They have also won just one of their last seven matches in all competitions. There has been rumors within the week that the board is already lining up replacement for the Chelsea manager with former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelloti a possible option.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s new coach Jurgen Klopp would be looking to make a strong statement in the Premier League and nothing would say that more than a win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The reds have not lost a match since the German took over the club and there has been positives changes since he took over. Even though the team has not been scoring a lot of goals lately, their pace and runs have improved according to statistics. Liverpool currently seat at the ninth position on the table win 14 points while Chelsea are at the fifteenth position with  11 points as earlier stated. a win would go a long way in changing any of the teams fortune and the players mindset, so that makes this game a crucial one for both teams. the question now is, “who would go home smiling after the match?”

imagesChelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has lashed out at the English FA for the ban on him. Mourinho was handed a one match ban and £50,000 fine for his comments following his teams loss to South Hampton. He said during his post match conference that referees were now afraid of taking decisions in favour of his team, stating that Chelsea should have been awarded at least two spot kicks in the game. The Portuguese coach feels he is being singled out by the FA and doesn’t see it as being right.

He went on to remind the press that he was shoved by arch rival Arsene Webber at the technical area during their clash last season but the French man went unpunished. He also stated that the French man also made a bad comment after their clash in September where he referred to the Mike Dean as being naive and weak but also got away without any punishment from the FA

The fact that the French man was not punished by the FA for these two actions has led the Chelsea boss to say that he is being singled out for punishment. It is very unlikely that Chelsea would try to appeal the ban although they are still waiting for the FA’s written document on why they served Mourinho the stadium ban.

Chelsea currently sits in the 16th position, taking just 8 points from all their premier league matches this season. After the teams loss to South Hampton it was suggested that Mourinho’s job might be under threat but the clubs owner passed a vote of confidence on the Portuguese coach.

Klopp during his time at Dortmund After sacking Brendan Rogers this weekend, Liverpool has set their sights on hiring German personality Jurgen Klopp as a possible replacement. Klopp has been on a self imposed sabbatical leave since leaving Borrusia Dortmund at the end of last season. Jurgen Klopp spent 7 years in all at Dortmund which saw him win plenty silverwares and even carried the team to the Champions league finals. He achieved a lot at Dortmund and was loved by his players and the fans at large.

Liverpool on the other hand parted ways with Brendan Rogers after their 1-1 draw with Everton. It’s been a long time coming for Rodgers as he had been hanging on the ropes since the beginning of the season. After spending so much to bring in players during the last transfer market, there seemed to be no progress with the team. During his three years spell at Liverpool, Rodgers brought in a total of 31 Players and all he has to show for it is one silver ware, not a major one at that.

Jurgen Klopp has been rumored as the possible replacement for Pep Guardiola after his contract with Bayern Munich runs this January but the possibilities of a U-turn by the Spaniard has made Kloop consider the offer from Liverpool. Liverpool also has former AC Milan and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelloti as an option but Kloop remains their first choice. They would want to seal the deal for Klopp on time as Chelsea’s coach Jose Mourinho seems to be running out of time to get the club back to winning ways. And if so happens that Mourinho is sacked, Chelsea would turn their sights to Klopp or Ancelloti which would make the whole process more difficult for them.

Jose mourinho’s Chelsea continued their run of poor performance as they drew 2-2 with Newcastle yesterday. The blues were two goals down by the hour mark at St James Park were they had to scramble two late goals to secure one point from the game. Ayoze perez opening the scoring for the magpies just before the half time whistle and then Georginio Wijnaldum doubled their lead, heading home the ball following a corner kick. But with twelve minutes remaining on the clock, Mourinho had to introduce substitutes Ramires and Willian who came on to change the game. Ramires started the comeback scoring a shot from 20 yards in the 79th minute before Willian drew level for the team from a dead ball.

Newcastle might be disappointed with the result given that they just needed to hold on for twelve more minutes to secure all three points. Mourinho has gone on to criticize the mentality of his opponents stating that this maybe the reason why the team never wins anything. According to him the Newcastle team brings out their all whenever they are playing against Chelsea and just play normally in other matches. It is worthy to note that Jose Mourinho has never won a league match at St James Park. Mourinho has blamed his team loss on bad individual performances stating that if he had his way, he would have changed at least six players after the first half. This result leaves Chelsea seven points behind new premier league leaders Manchester United but the league is still very much open considering that only seven games have been played so far.

Senior club doctor Eva Carneiro has parted ways with the club following her controversy with the club’s coach Jose Mourinho on the opening day of the Premier League. Carneiro rushed on the pitch to attend to Chelsea forward Eden Hazard who had been knocked down, but her actions didn’t go down well with the coach who referred to it as being naïve and impulsive. According to him, she slowed the momentum of the game and allowed the hosts recover from the pressure being piled on them by Chelsea. The blues went on to draw the match 2-2 as they were temporarily reduced to ten men while Carneiro attended to Eden Hazard by the sidelines.

Although the former blues doctor is set to take her case with the club to court after departing the club, she even shared a picture she tagged as her new dawn on her facebook page while thanking the fans for their support all through the incidence. Since the incidence, Carneiro has been suspended from performing her match day duties and reduced to working with players at the training pitch. Board member of the English FA, Heathers Rabbats has stated that she hopes to see Carneiro back in the football world as soon as possible. She also went ahead to state that Carneiro was just a doctor performing her duties and that the way she was being treated by the club send out the wrong message about the safety of players when their medical support is compromised.
